 Very Effective in Reducing Pollen, 2007-04-17
Live in Southern CA where Spring brings me terrible allergy symptoms. Unit greatly reduces my symptoms - as effective as medication. My wife also indicates less snoring - cheaper than surgery! Writing this review as I order our third unit. Highly recommended.

 Big, Loud, but makes a difference, 2007-03-27
The difference in the air quality is noticable. I haven't tried to clean it yet, but it looks like it shouldn't be too difficult. One gripe is the blue led's. Would be nice to turn them off but still use the functionality (especially since they are purely for decoration)

three units after a couple months, 2007-03-11
On high, the units are too loud, but on low a unit is quiet enough for a small bedroom. Because I live in the dusty/moldy greater Phoenix valley, I ignore the clean filter meter, which simply adds up speed and time. I am cleaning every two weeks, but have noticed a fabulous decrease in dust accumulation on electronics. My wife with allergies is breathing much easier and with no use of emergency meds. My wife and I had a home with two massive Honeywell units on the air intakes of both heater/airconditioners. These units are much easier to clean and the addition of UV antibacterial is reassuring. We are temporarily in a Tempe rental apartment, which is quite the challenge. Our monthly change of the air/heat filter is already astonishing proof of the effectiveness of these units. We are buying a fourth. While definitely 5 stars for us, on High, these units are too loud to be in that room. Medium has tolerable noise to do the Pilates DVD, while Low is always OK. I telecommute always on the phone and Low is fine even in my "cubical." I researched the UV and I have not a clue if that additionally helps with the allergies, but something is working. Finally, to clean the filters, we vacuum, rinse, soak less than two minutes, rinse, soak very briefly until rinse clean, set on an absorbant bath towel, let absolutely dry, and then run on high for at least an hour. Seemingly, we will add weeks to the cleaning intervals, but at this point, cleaning is a labor of love. Once you wash and rinse and see the fine dirt in the water, you'll be glad you more than vacuumed.

so far so good, 2007-01-12
With only 90 days of use, can only say 'so far ,so good'.
Pretty much as advertised(with the exception that it is fairly noisey.)
If you have need for ultra-violet germ fighting light(which you can turn off&on),washable ionic filter then this will fit your needs..
Considering its barreled/odd shape & rather large size, placement is a minor issue.Small complaint but assume necessary to design..
Be aware that is does deposit some dust etc.on adjacent walls.
However:Filter washes nicely..
Ease of maintenance.
Now if it gives long term service would say it deserves 5 stars.

I leave it running all day!, 2006-11-10
I own the other Honeywell air pufier that looks similar to this unit but it is in white and LOVE it. So, when this upgrade came out, I decided to give it a go...esp because it had UV as well. I leave it running all day and night and it keeps the air feeling pure and clean. It is quiet and smooth. I am now considering buying a 3rd (an addition HFD135) for my family room. Highly recommended!
